Philanthropy
Alpha Phi supports those in need through service and philanthropy. Alpha Phis share a passion for helping one another and their surrounding communities. The Alpha Phi Foundation is one of the oldest Greek Foundations and works to raise awareness and funds in support of women's heart health.
Alpha Phi at UW-Stout participates in several philanthropy events throughout the year to support the Alpha Phi Foundation and women's heart health. Events include our annual Red Dress Gala, an Alpha Phiesta Nacho Dinner, Cardiac Arrest event, Hot Dog Sales, a Culver's Night, and more.
In 2014, we also participated in Take Heart. Take Part., which is an education initiative by Alpha Phi Foundation to make the lifesaving treatment of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) readily accessible in communities and on campuses across North America. It is designed to expand public awareness of SCA, provide the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only™ CPR, and implement automated external defibrillator (AED) programs. The Alpha Phi Foundation partnered with the American Heart Association (AHA) to build confidence in CPR skills among more community members by training all Alpha Phi collegiate members across North America in Hands-Only™ CPR.
